Because I just can’t resist a slideshow from a session that I loved. Hope you enjoy too.
but nothing really is as simple as that. i am a woman living a double life ... corporate career woman by day, photographer by night (or rather by the light). i don't know if i found photography or it found me, either way part of who i am is ... photographer.
my most important work is as mother & wife. i live in new jersey & i like it! my German Shepherd answers to the name Guinness. i am allergic to mornings, but coffee helps. i think i can sing, i think i can dance, i know that others diasgree. i believe every person is a beautiful work in progress & i fully accept that i am perfectly imperfect, just as i should be.
i am so excited that you have stumbled upon my little corner of the internet, please take a moment, peek around & become a part of my work in progress.
This is my brother, my sister-in-law & the baby that soon will be.
These images are not about the belly, but about them. This will be the last time it will be just them. They have chosen to take on a very special task & there is an exciting adventure that lies before them. They do not yet know the enormous amount of love that they will feel for this child. They do not realize they can truly function on less sleep then they get right now. They do not know that they will be tested harder than they ever have been. They do not realize that they will pass with flying colors, that they will be wonderful parents because they will no longer be just about the two of them.
It will about family. It will be about baby. It will soon be three.

As I was culling though a recent shoot, this image caught my eyes. Thought I’d share it as a quick sneak peak for the moms. It’s just some cousins taking their portraits for an updated photo for the grandparents. I totally get that this may not be the actual image they’ll choose to print, but I would be mine! Their expressions are priceless.

I couldn’t wait to share this image! If I could have, I would have had my camera send it to the blog soon as the shutter clicked, but alas that technology doesn’t exist yet & my own family required my attention. But they are worth it, I promise, even though this is the cutest little guy ever. Looking forward to sharing more of the images from the shoot soon. Until then, hope his momma enjoys this sneak peak.

ever since i “seriously” picked up a camera, to tell stories & capture truth, rather than just take snapshots … i decided it was very important to have my family portraits taken every year. i’m not taking quickie sessions at sears or any place you can drop-in to just capture a stage of growth, but rather custom photography by a photographer who will take the time to tell our story & portray us as we are, as imperfect as we are. this year i was blessed have the talented tracy tesmer be that photographer. i can’t even begin to describe to you internet how moved i am by the images she created for us. seeing my family through her eyes has been a gift that won’t be forgotten for a long time to come.
i met tracy on flickr & hired her to design my logo for my budding photography business. something about her images portrayed truth! we became internet acquaintences & actually never never talked live (as they say in the corporate world) for over a year, until she stayed with my family (before returning from new england to houston) this past june. she is someone who is doing & pursing exactly what she was destined to do. what you see with tracy is what you get. she is easy to be around & seeing the world through her eyes or rather experiencing it with her has inspired me in ways that i will never be able to describe. i now am lucky to call her a special friend.
here is a shot of her doing her thing at the guggenheim. her images can be seen here.

& because i have to share, these are a few of my favorite images that she shot of my family. some even brought tears to my eyes. if you are interested in seeing more, click here.

i can only hope that i make the families i am blessed to photograph feel half as happy, fulfilled, special, beautiful, loved, unique as tracy made us feel. thank you tracy!! come back & visit soon!
